I've always felt that a monochrome image forces the viewer to add his own detail and colour when looking at it, using simplicity to make itself that much more interesting. Shooting in black and white has always given me the ability to add more depth to my photos, not only in their appearance, but also in the idea behind them. Where I would choose conceptual photography as my niche, monochrome photography will win in the style department any day.
